I’m 5′2″ and weighed about 115 pounds when I started working out. I really wanted to fit in to my halloween costume so I’ve been working out for the past two weeks, running 30 minutes at least and doing a little weight training (which is a lot because I usually never exercise) plus eating healthy balanced meals in moderation. However, I gained 4 pounds and now weigh 119 pounds
Am I doing something wrong here? I want to be slim and lean, not thick and muscle-y:(

Building muscles doesn’t loose weight, it burns fat then adds more weight (in muscles) to your body. The human body is designed to walk. Walk longer (don’t run) and eat healthy.
you probably have the same dimensions you did before but replaced the fat with muscle and thats how you put on the weight
if you keep it up you will lean out completely and look amazing!
You are goining more weight through muscle than fat. You are gaining mscle slightly faster than you are losing fat so you are doing great.
Body builders are like 200-400 lbs just cuz they are tough!
Don’t confuse fat loss with weight loss or fat gain with weight gain.
The scale isn’t telling you what is really going on.
Firstly, we gain and lose on average up to 7 to 10 pounds of water weight every few days. Sometimes its more and sometimes its less.
Secondly, you’ve been working out for only 2 weeks. It’s too early to tell, but when you do this long enough, you actually gain lean muscle (weighs 3 times more than fat) and increase bone.
You have to go by how clothes fit you and use a tape measure to be accurate.
You are doing great. so keep it up!
